Educational Tour ...?

Aerial view of Holcim Davao

We had our plant tour a few hours ago at Holcim Davao. The company bombarded us with power point presentation and all we could do was sit and try to listen as though we were that interested.

The bus was very disappointing. I was so afraid that some insects would crawl near me, I swear I would shout!

I was expecting something different, more than just riding in a bus, touring the place. What we saw was a lot of vehicles and a little more of the process. Sadly, we didn’t get the chance to see the actual making of the cement product. The videos weren’t also that clear since they made the processes into an animation presentation. I wish we could have visited the insides of the plant. With pain hearts, and bowed heads, we silently went away with the longing of seeing their real production process.

It was supposedly a three-plant tour. But since San Miguel and Macondray can’t accommodate us, guess we’ll just have to stick with Holcim. Not a fabulous experience but I can say that they are somehow hospitable.

Better luck next time, I guess.
