Dim-witted rhinoceros

I really have a nice day today. Well, I indulge myself into the anime series of Marmalade Boy once again. And I also do the usual stuff—make my assignment, do the readings, tweet, and sign in to my messenger. And then I saw the picture of the funny and brave Miriam Defensor-Santiago.

This week’s news in the Philippines was filled with funny comments and hush-hush agreements on some other government officials. I was talking about the privilege speech Santiago did last August 25, 2009 (I was a bit late in writing it though). Well, the infomercials in my previous blog hit her and made her burst with anger. She called them “thick-skinned and should be shot on sight”. My, I really like her frankness.

I wasn’t able to watch it on TV so I made my way to YouTube. And there I saw rage of Santiago. It’s as if she was persecuting the officials who she thinks are rhinoceros. She also said that “a rhinoceros is a template for Cabinet members and other executive officials who use public funds or gifts from so-called friends, to campaign for the next year’s election”.

I quite enjoyed her speech. But the best part of it though was the start of it. She defined the rhinoceros officials as “perissodactyl mammal with two horns”. And she’s really intelligent. I sooo love her.:D
